We were aching for the company of this family friend, even though I didn't know it. When a neighbor first asked if we wanted to adopt a puppy, I quickly said "No". But then he told me that the puppy belonged to a family that had to move in a few days, to a place that didn't allow pets. If they couldn't find a home for him, he'd be taken to the city pound, and most likely killed.
Before I knew it I was taking my son to meet his new doggie brother, HoneyBoy!
From our first moments holding him, he's brought nothing but joy and unconditional, Magnificent devotion into our lives. Sure he chewed a few shoes, toys & books in those early days, but even that always seemed infused with adoration.
That was almost two years ago, and now I find it very hard to imagine our family without him.
Shortly after he came to us, we learned that HoneyBoy has epilepsy. His seems to be the less severe, environmentally effected type, yet it's still a serious cause for concern.
Today, Nov. 14, 2005, HoneyBoy had his first "cluster" seizure. It's a very dangerous health marker, and a possibly fatal event. We intend for it to be his last such event.
Please join my family in offering your thoughts of healing and complete recovery for our "doggie brother".
Magnificently Yours,
~Nut
